And the one time I checked on him, I just remember an explosion.

half my friends from home are from my time and half my friends from home are from my future
sokka, katara and uncle are from around the same time as i remember
whereas aang, azula and toph are all from years in the future
it's hard to know where to draw lines
i've heard nothing we learn here affects our future but...... i dunno.

And even if it doesn't change our futures, it still affects things now.
